How to create an email from M365 Copilot Chat?
Microsoft 365 Copilot is continuing to smooth out everyday work, and one of the most practical improvements right now is how easy it has become to draft and send Outlook emails directly from Copilot Chat.
Instead of jumping between apps, copying content, or reworking drafts, you can now stay in the flow of your conversation. Ask Copilot to draft an email, refine the tone, shorten it, or make it more formal, all without leaving the chat. When you’re happy, the message can be sent straight to Outlook, saving time and reducing friction in your day.
What makes this even more useful is how Copilot recognises email content within your chat. If Copilot detects that a response is really an email, you’ll see the option to “Edit in Outlook”. With one click, the draft opens in Outlook where you can review, tweak wording, add recipients, or attach files before sending.
This might sound like a small change, but it removes a surprising amount of effort from a task most of us do dozens of times a day. Less switching between tools means fewer distractions, faster responses, and more consistent communication — especially when you’re juggling meetings, chats, and follow‑ups.
For busy teams, this is another example of Copilot quietly improving how work gets done. It’s not about replacing judgement or human input, it’s about removing the admin so you can focus on the message itself.
If you’re using Copilot, it’s well worth trying this.
