Creating Branded PowerPoint Presentations with Copilot Just Got Much Easier

One of the biggest concerns I've heard from people using Microsoft Copilot in PowerPoint is: "How do I make sure my presentation follows our company's branding?"

While Copilot has been fantastic at helping people generate presentation content quickly, many organisations have been reluctant to fully embrace it because they want presentations to look professional, consistent, and aligned with their brand guidelines.

Until recently, the recommended approach was to start by opening your organisation's PowerPoint template and then use the Copilot side pane to generate and build content within that template. It worked, but it required a few extra steps and assumed users knew where to find the correct templates in the first place.

Now Microsoft is starting to roll out a feature that makes the process much more seamless.

Introducing Brand Kits in PowerPoint

When creating a new presentation, some users are beginning to see a Brand option that provides access to their organisation's Brand Kit directly within PowerPoint. This is a significant improvement because it brings branding into the presentation creation experience itself. Rather than worrying about applying corporate colours, fonts, logos, and visual styles after the presentation has been created, PowerPoint can incorporate these branding elements from the beginning. The result is a presentation that feels more aligned with your organisation's visual identity while still allowing Copilot to help with creating slides and content.

Why This Matters

One of the barriers to Copilot adoption has never really been the technology itself. Most people can see the value of generating a first draft of a presentation in minutes. The challenge has often been the work required afterwards. People would generate a presentation and then spend time fixing colours, updating layouts, replacing fonts, and making everything look like it belonged to their organisation. For organisations with strong brand standards, that additional effort could make people question whether using Copilot was actually saving time. Having branding integrated more directly into the presentation creation process helps remove some of that friction.

It means users can spend less time adjusting appearance and more time refining the message they want to communicate.

A Step Towards Better Adoption

Features like this are important because successful AI adoption isn't just about adding new capabilities. It's about making those capabilities fit naturally into the way people already work. The easier Microsoft can make it for Copilot to produce content that looks and feels organisation-ready, the more confidence people will have in using it for important presentations.

For communication teams, sales teams, and leaders who regularly create presentations, this will help.

What to Do Next

If your organisation is using Microsoft 365 Copilot, keep an eye out for the Brand option when creating your next presentation. Not every tenant may have access yet, as Microsoft often rolls out new features gradually, but it's definitely one worth watching. If branding has been one of the reasons you've been hesitant to use Copilot in PowerPoint, this new capability could be exactly what you've been waiting for. The best presentations don't just communicate great ideas, they also reflect the organisation behind them. Bringing Brand Kits and Copilot together makes that much easier.

 Quick Tip

If you can't see the Brand option yet, continue using your organisation's approved PowerPoint template when generating presentations with Copilot. You'll still get the benefits of AI-generated content while maintaining consistency with your organisation's visual identity.
